Composition Track
Students who follow this track demonstrate their creative ability through original composition, arrangement, and orchestration in both tonal and post-tonal mediums. Opportunities for students to have their work performed occur regularly. Through analysis and detailed theoretical training, students learn various compositional tools and effective notation in order to develop their work fully. Students are expected to complete both a junior and senior portfolio. Students who wish to pursue particularly
intensive studies in composition and theory should elect to take the honors track in place of the regular track.
