The Master of Arts emphasis in conducting is designed for students who expect to
conduct the major repertoire during their professional careers. In
addition to developing practical technical skills, students will study
issues of performance practice and musical analysis ,and gain experience
in the preparation of performance materials.
Language Master of Arts candidates are required to pass a test proving they have reading knowledge in one foreign language.
Written thesis A public concert and
supporting written materials are presented in lieu of a thesis.
Length of study Typical time to complete the Master of Arts degree is two years, and candidates must be in residence for at least one academic year.
