UC Davis Professor Christopher Reynolds Wins H. Colin Slim Award
At the 2008 meeting of the American Musicological Society held in Nashville, Christopher Reynolds won the H. Colin Slim Award for his article "Porgy and Bess: 'An American Wozzeck,'" which was published in the inaugural issue of the Journal for the Society of American Music (February 2007). Per the citation, "The H. Colin Slim Award honors each year one musicological article of exceptional merit, published during the previous year in any language and in any country by a scholar who is past the early stages of her or his career and who is a member of the AMS or a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or the United States." Reynolds is a professor of musicology at UC Davis, where he serves as chair of the Department of Music.
