Music Alum Angelo Moreno Wins Sac Music Educators Award
UC Davis Department of Music alumnus Angelo Moreno has been awarded this year's Sacramento Music Educators Outstanding Achievement Award. Moreno, who serves as orchestra conductor at Davis High School and with the Sacramento Youth Symphony, will receive the award at the annual JAMMIES presentation on February 20 at the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. Moreno is a graduate of UC Davis, where he received his bachelor's and master's degrees in orchestral conducting under the direction of D.
Kern Holoman. Professor Holoman—along with Margaret Neu, noted local band director (retired) and former UC Davis clarinet instructor, and Greg Brucker, UC Davis music alumnus and doublebassist—will present the tribute.
