SF Chronicle Lauds Rohde’s "Bis Bald"
San Francisco Chronicle music critic Joshua Kosman reviewed Kurt Rohde's Bis Bald (Until Soon), a "suberb" piece commissioned by the Berkeley Symphony Orchestra and performed on September 18, 2008, at the farewell concert of longtime conductor Kent Nagano. Kosman refers to Rohde's piece as "a virtuosic and often beautiful work that says both 'See ya' and 'Hurry back,' all in the span of five minutes ... the perfect way to end not only one evening but a 30-year chapter in the Bay Area's music life."
