Beverly Wilcox is a fourth-year Ph.D student in musicology and criticism at UC Davis. She is investigating the development of public concerts in eighteenth-century Paris, and the ways in which the music written for the mass patronage of a paying public differed from that written under the royal and aristocratic patronage system of the Baroque Era. She has taught the department's Introduction to Music Literature and History of Rock courses, and served as a teaching assistant for a variety of courses. She received UCD's Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Assistant award in 2007. She plays the natural horn and occasionally writes for the San Francisco Classical Voice. |
