Download SYNTAL in a zipped file archive

The SYNTAL system is designed particularly for synthesis of speech-derived music. For an introduction to "color music" see Wayne Slawson. Sound Color. Berkeley: University of California Press, 1985. The system can be brought up easily in UNIX-based systems such as LINUX and Macintosh OSX. Download the directory SYNTAL03 into a convenient directory in your system and follow directions given in README. The SYNTAL03 directory contains a Manual in .pdf format and, under Examples, simple SYNTAL source files and a complete specification of Slawson's "Papa".
