Inspired
by the passionate, artistic commitment and unique temperament of American
composer Charles Ives (1874–1954), the Ives Quartet attracts
critical enthusiasm for its “practice of reveling in the unfamiliar.”
Excelling equally at the interpretation of established masterworks and
seldom-heard compositions, the San Francisco-based quartet travels nationally
and internationally to perform at noted chamber music series and festivals.
The ensemble’s ability for both refinement and rock-and-roll intensity
conveys music that is “thoroughly absorbed, idiomatic, performed from
the inside-out” (San Jose “Mercury News”). Read more
