UC Davis Department of Music Announces 2009–10 Performance Season

! @UCDavisMusic announces 2009–10 performance season: violins, pianos, shadow puppets and more. http://bit.ly/krEvP.

Davis, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2009)—The UC Davis Department of Music proudly announces its 2009–10 performance season—a season filled with unique programs, from January’s Violin Festival to February’s American Piano project to April’s Indonesian shadow-puppet play featuring UC Berkeley’s Gamelan Sari Raras. In addition, the department welcomes new symphony director Christian Baldini, who will first conduct the UCDSO during a Mondavi Presents performance by soprano Christine Brewer in October.

Most department events take place at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. With student ticket prices starting at $4, and most tickets at $20 or less, the Department of Music provides uniquely affordable access to quality performances across a variety of musical genres. Season Ticket packages provide a 10% discount for any three events purchased together and 15% for any five. Individual and Season Tickets are available via the Mondavi Center box office: 530-754-2787, 866-754-2787 (toll-free) or MondaviArts.org.

In addition to major performing arts events at the Mondavi Center and other larger campus venues, the department continues to present its popular free Noon Concerts, typically held in the Music Building, with occasional special performances in the Mondavi Center Grand Lobby.
